These terms apply to your use of the Simple Wallet Android application. By installing or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not, please uninstall the app.
Simple Wallet is a personal bookkeeping tool. It records the amounts you type in and does arithmetic on them. It does not connect to your bank, it does not import statements, and it has no way to know whether what you entered is correct or complete.
Simple Wallet does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice. Budgets, insights, totals and warning thresholds are conveniences calculated from your own entries — they are not recommendations, and they are not a substitute for professional advice. Decisions you make after looking at them are yours.
Your records are stored only on your device. We have no copy and cannot recover anything for you. That is a deliberate privacy trade-off, and it has a consequence you need to plan for:
Use the export/backup feature regularly and keep the file somewhere safe. It is the only recovery mechanism that exists.
We work to keep the app's arithmetic correct, but software has bugs and devices behave in unexpected ways. Do not rely on Simple Wallet as your only record of anything that matters — for tax, legal or reimbursement purposes, keep the underlying receipts and statements.
Pro is a one-time purchase, sold and processed through Google Play. It unlocks the features described on the store listing and in the app at the time of purchase, for the device or Google account that bought it.
Features may be added, changed or retired over time. We will not remove a feature that was the stated substance of your purchase, but the app will keep evolving around it.
The free version shows optional rewarded video ads, which you choose to watch in exchange for unlocking a colour theme. Nothing forces you to watch one, and no part of your bookkeeping depends on it. What advertising collects is described in the Privacy Policy.
Please do not modify, repackage or redistribute the app, attempt to unlock paid features without paying, or use the app to break the law.
Simple Wallet is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defect will be corrected.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, savings or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of Simple Wallet — including any financial decision made in reliance on it.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you actually paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 10.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law. Consumer protection law in your country may give you guarantees that override the two paragraphs above; where it does, it wins.
We may update these terms as the app changes. Updates are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept them.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without depriving you of the protection of consumer law in your own country of residence.
